
A horrific road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district resulted in the tragic loss of thirteen lives and left eighteen individuals injured when a privately-owned bus collided with a truck, engulfing in flames late last night. The incident occurred between a bus registered under Bhanu Pratap Sikarwar, brother of former BJP district vice president Vishwanath Sikarwar.
The bus, traveling from Guna to Aron with around 30 passengers, a driver, and a conductor, met with the accident around 8:30 pm, overturning and bursting into flames upon collision with a dumper truck. Guna police officials recovered twelve bodies at the scene, with fourteen injured passengers immediately rushed to the district hospital. Authorities later found a thirteenth body, believed to be the driver, after extinguishing the fire.
Expressing profound grief over the tragedy, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav declared an investigation into the incident, vowing stringent action against those responsible. He assured thorough inquiries into the bus’s permits and the circumstances surrounding the accident. Additionally, the state has taken swift disciplinary actions, suspending a Transport Department official and the Chief Medical Officer of Guna district for alleged negligence.
Chief Minister Yadav, in his commitment to aid the affected families, announced compensation of ₹4 lakh each to the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for each of the injured. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, responding to the calamity, expressed his distress and swiftly directed relief and rescue efforts upon receiving information about the accident.
As investigations continue and efforts for relief and support are underway, the tragic incident has prompted a deep sense of sorrow and concern, with officials striving to ascertain the cause behind this devastating mishap in Guna.
