In a devastating accident this morning on the Badaun-Meerut State Highway in Salempur, Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, at least 10 people have been confirmed dead and 37 others injured following a collision between a private bus and a pickup truck. The crash occurred when the pickup truck, traveling from Ghaziabad to Sambhal, collided with the bus, causing severe damage.
District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh reported that the death toll might rise as rescue operations continue. “Ten people died in the accident. The injured have been sent to the hospital,” Singh stated. Emergency services, including district officials and medical teams, were promptly engaged in the rescue and treatment efforts.
The injured are currently being treated at two locations: four individuals have been referred to Meerut Central Hospital, while the remaining victims are receiving care at the district hospital. A total of 21 people are being treated at the district hospital by a dedicated team of doctors.
The accident has drawn significant attention from local authorities, who are working to manage the aftermath and provide necessary assistance to the affected families. The cause of the collision is under investigation, and officials are urging caution on the highways to prevent such tragedies in the future.
