A horrifying collision on a national highway in Karnataka’s Kundapur injured ten people, with two in critical condition. The accident occurred when a speeding truck rammed into a Toyota Innova that was reversing on the roadside and dragged it several meters before toppling.
The occupants of the car, seven individuals including the driver, were returning to Kerala after visiting the Kollur Devi Temple in Udupi. The driver had engaged the reverse parking lights and was maneuvering the vehicle near the Kumbhashi Chandika Durgaparmeshwari Temple when the incident took place.
A video of the crash shows the lorry, carrying fish, colliding with the SUV and pushing it into the bushes before coming to a halt. The impact caused the truck to overturn, while the car sustained significant damage.
The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Two of the victims remain in critical condition, and authorities are closely monitoring their health. The identities of the truck occupants remain unknown.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident, focusing on the circumstances that led to the collision.
