A Google techie in Bengaluru took to social media to narrate a distressing incident involving an Uber driver, sparking a wave of similar experiences from other users. The passenger, identified as @striver_79 on X, recounted how the driver incessantly talked on the phone without headphones, leading to discomfort and eventually verbal abuse.

According to the post shared on March 16, the Uber ride, initially estimated at 1.5 hours, turned sour when the driver refused to use headphones despite requests. The situation escalated as the driver allegedly abused the passengers and demanded they exit the vehicle, citing discomfort with their presence.

@striver_79’s tweet garnered significant attention, amassing over three lakh views, 1,400 likes, and numerous comments. Many individuals shared their own encounters with Uber drivers in Bengaluru, highlighting issues such as constant phone usage, tiredness leading to unsafe driving, and refusal to comply with passenger requests.
