A female pilot sustained injuries after a trainer aircraft crashed in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district on Wednesday. The incident occurred when the aircraft, which had taken off from Neemuch, experienced suspected engine issues, leading to the accident.
According to officials, the crash happened around 5 pm and was caused by a technical snag. Guna Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Sinha confirmed the details, stating that the plane was on a routine training exercise from Neemuch to Sagar when the mishap occurred.
Sub-Inspector Chanchal Tiwari of Guna provided further insight into the incident, stating, “After developing a malfunction, a trainee aircraft flying from Neemuch to Dhana made an emergency landing during which it lost control. The trainee pilot sustained injuries and has been admitted to the hospital.”
In an unrelated incident, another aircraft belonging to the Indian Army’s Officers Training Academy in Bihar’s Gaya also experienced a crash. The aircraft, with two pilots on board, encountered minor injuries, and both pilots, including a female, survived.
The OTA aircraft crash occurred during a routine training program in Kanchanpur village, located under the Bodh Gaya sub-division. Eyewitnesses reported that the aircraft crash-landed in an agricultural field, prompting villagers to aid in rescuing the pilots and notify local authorities.
Upon receiving the alert, OTA officers swiftly responded, facilitating the transfer of the injured pilots to the base camp for medical treatment. The prompt action by villagers and OTA personnel underscores the importance of effective coordination in responding to such emergencies.
As investigations into both incidents unfold, authorities are expected to assess the causes behind the crashes and implement necessary measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Meanwhile, the injured pilot in the Madhya Pradesh crash is receiving medical attention, with efforts underway to ensure her swift recovery.
