A horrific train derailment near Raghunathpur station close to Buxar, Bihar, has resulted in the loss of at least five lives. The incident unfolded around 9:35 pm on Wednesday, when the North East Express, en route from Anand Vihar Terminus in Delhi to Kamakhya, Assam, met with a tragic accident.
Teams comprising the national and state disaster response forces have been swiftly dispatched to the site, with the district administration also alerting nearby hospitals to prepare for casualties.
In response to the tragedy, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav has taken immediate action. He reported that he has been in contact with the Disaster Management Department, Health Department, and district officials in Buxar and Bhojpur. Their primary objective is to reach the accident site promptly and expedite relief and rescue operations.
The tragic incident has also caught the attention of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s office. They are closely monitoring the situation surrounding the derailment in Raghunathpur and are in direct communication with the district authorities in Buxar, as well as other relevant agencies.
