Thar SUV Climbs Electric Pole After Collision with Speeding Honda Amaze in Gurugram

In a bizarre incident on Monday, a Mahindra Thar SUV ended up stuck on an electric pole in Gurugram after being hit by a speeding Honda Amaze. Videos and photos of the unusual scene quickly went viral on social media, showing the SUV inclined precariously on the pole.

The incident occurred around 4 pm when the Honda Amaze rear-ended the Thar SUV. The driver of the SUV, identified as Aanchal Gupta, lost control of her vehicle following the impact, causing it to climb up the pole. Fortunately, Gupta escaped without injury, but the driver of the Honda Amaze fled the scene immediately.

Eyewitnesses captured the aftermath of the collision, with numerous people gathering around the scene to take pictures and videos. According to Aanchal Gupta, the collision happened shortly after she had exited a nearby petrol pump. “I left the petrol pump, and right after I took a turn, a white Honda Amaze hit my car from behind. I diverted to the left because otherwise, there would have been further damage. However, my car went up the electric pole. Later, locals helped me come down, and I jumped from above,” Gupta told India Today.

The Gurugram Police have launched an investigation into the incident to locate the driver of the Honda Amaze and understand the circumstances leading to the collision.

In a separate incident on the same day, a 17-year-old boy lost his life after crashing his car into a divider on a flyover at Atul Kataria Chowk in Gurugram. The boy, a resident of Sector 14, was reportedly speeding on his way to attend coaching classes in Udyog Vihar around 11 am when he lost control of the vehicle. Police believe no other car was involved in this incident, and the crash led to traffic disruptions on the flyover until the car was towed away.

“Prima facie, it appears that no other car was involved in the incident and that the boy lost control on his own. The crash affected traffic on the flyover for about half an hour until the car was towed away,” an official stated.
