Rahul Gandhi Alleges Three-Party Nexus in Telangana, Questions Absence of Cases Against KCR

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has made a significant political move in Telangana, alleging a three-party nexus and questioning the absence of legal cases against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). Speaking at a roadshow in Bhupalpally, he also addressed the pressing issue of caste census and pledged to initiate the survey if the Congress gains power in the state.

Gandhi’s challenge to KCR centers on the issue of caste census, which he described as a vital matter for the country, comparable to an x-ray revealing the percentages of backward classes, SC, ST, and minorities, leading to more equitable budget allocation.

The Congress leader alleged that a collaboration exists between KCR’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM with the BJP, targeting the Congress. He called on the people of Telangana to question when Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister KCR intend to conduct the caste census survey.

Gandhi also emphasized the absence of cases against KCR while opposition parties face legal action, raising questions about equity and impartiality in the state’s governance.

The issue of caste census has become a point of contention between the BRS and the Congress in the lead-up to the elections. KCR’s daughter and Legislative Council member K Kavitha questioned the Congress’s delay in conducting a caste survey during its decades-long governance of the country. She highlighted the welfare schemes that have been effectively provided to all communities based on the results of the survey conducted by the BRS.

While the KCR government had conducted a caste survey in 2014, the results were not made public due to legal challenges. However, the state government claimed that the data was used for policy changes.

Rahul Gandhi’s remarks set the stage for a heated political battle in Telangana, as parties and leaders exchange views on the caste census and its implications for the state’s governance and development.
