Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to take the oath of office for his third consecutive term on Sunday, June 9, at approximately 7:15 pm. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) unanimously chose Mr Modi as their leader in a meeting held on Friday, paving the way for the formation of the government at the Centre.
The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and marks the culmination of preparations that have seen the premises closed to the public from June 5 to June 9.

Prime Minister Modi met President Draupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 5 to submit his resignation and that of the Union Council of Ministers in preparation for the oath-taking ceremony.
The event is expected to be attended by over 8000 dignitaries, including foreign leaders from various countries who have accepted invitations to witness the occasion. These leaders are scheduled to arrive in New Delhi on Sunday and will participate in a formal banquet hosted by President Draupadi Murmu after the ceremony.
Delhi is on high alert as SAARC leaders prepare to attend the event. Major hotels in the city, including Leela, Taj, ITC Maurya, Claridges, and Oberoi, are under tight security. Police officials have arranged secure routes for the dignitaries’ travel between their hotels and the venue, ensuring a smooth and secure event.
