Latest newsPM Modi Reveals 1,000-Year Vision, Emphasizes BJP's Electoral Prospects

In an exclusive interview ahead of the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi articulated a visionary outlook for India’s future, asserting that the BJP would secure a historic mandate. The Prime Minister’s comments underscored the significance of bureaucratic reform, with a focus on merit-based promotion rather than seniority.

During the interview with NDTV, PM Narendra Modi highlighted the ongoing initiatives aimed at catapulting India into a prosperous future spanning the next millennium. He described the current period as pivotal for India’s trajectory, urging the nation to capitalize on this transformative phase. Modi remarked, “…What’s happening now will take India towards a brighter future for the coming 1000 years. In my mind, it is clear that this is our time. This is Bharat’s time, and we must not lose the opportunity.”

Central to Modi’s vision is the establishment of a blueprint for India’s progress, particularly envisioning India’s state a century after Independence as foundational for its long-term development. Emphasizing the need for bureaucratic reforms, Modi stated that promotions should not be pursued as the sole objective, signaling a shift towards a more performance-driven approach.

The Prime Minister disclosed that substantial progress has been made on the blueprint, with inputs gathered from a wide spectrum of stakeholders including ministers, secretaries, experts, and the public. He mentioned a mega brainstorming session that has been ongoing, underscoring the collaborative effort to shape India’s future course.

However, Modi’s remarks drew criticism from senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, who likened Modi’s vision to historical precedents, including a reference to Adolf Hitler’s proclamation of a 1,000-year Reich in Germany. Ramesh cautioned against drawing parallels, expressing skepticism about the sustainability of Modi’s vision.

In another interview with PTI, Modi outlined plans to implement key policy measures such as One Nation, One Election, and a Uniform Civil Code if re-elected. He also extended the 100-day plan to engage with the youth and seek their input on government priorities for his next term, highlighting a commitment to inclusive governance.
