Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Thursday raised serious concerns about the lack of an FIR in the ongoing case involving the discovery of large sums of cash from the residence of Delhi High Court judge Yashwant Varma. The cash was allegedly found in March, after fire officials were called to the judge’s house during Holi celebrations to address a blaze. Dhankhar criticized the pace of the investigation, highlighting that if the case involved an ordinary citizen, the investigation would have proceeded swiftly.

Three Youths Drown in Pune's Indrayani River While Swimming

Pune, Maharashtra – A tragic drowning incident claimed the lives of three young men in the Indrayani River at Kinhai village, Pune district, on Friday evening. The deceased have been identified as Gautam Kamle, Rajdilip Achme, and Akash Vittal Gode, all residents of Gurukul Chikhali area in Pune.

According to Vikram Bansode, Senior Police Inspector at Dehu Road Police Station, a group of 4-5 boys had gone swimming in the Indrayani River when three of them drowned. Upon receiving the distress call, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), fire brigade, and local villagers launched a rescue operation.

“By 6 PM, the rescue team managed to recover the bodies and rushed them to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital, where they were declared dead,” said Inspector Bansode.

Another Drowning Tragedy in Thane

In a similar incident, four children drowned in the Ulhas River in Thane on Thursday after going to wash off their Holi colours. The victims were identified as Aryan Medar, Aryan Singh, Siddharth Singh, and Om Singh Tomar.

Holi Safety Measures by Maharashtra Police

Earlier on Friday, Maharashtra Police launched a special drive in Pune to curb drunk driving during Holi celebrations. Checkpoints were set up at 91 locations across the city, with 5,000 police personnel and 500 officers deployed to ensure road safety.
