The murder case involving popular Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has taken a chilling turn, with shocking revelations surfacing during the investigation. The case centers on the murder of Renukaswamy, whose body was discovered in a drain in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Darshan, known as the ‘Challenging Star’ among his fans, was apprehended from his Mysuru farmhouse on Tuesday. His girlfriend and co-star Pavithra Gowda, along with 11 accomplices, has also been arrested in connection with the case. Pavithra Gowda has been identified as the main accused, with Darshan named as the second accused.

Here are five unsettling details that have emerged from the murder probe:

  1. Allegedly, Renukaswamy made derogatory remarks on Pavithra Gowda’s social media posts, prompting her to goad Darshan into taking action against him.
  2. Darshan purportedly tasked Raghavendra alias Raghu, the head of his fan club in Chitradurga, to gather information about Renukaswamy.
  3. The victim was allegedly abducted and taken to a shed in Bengaluru, where Darshan and his aides subjected him to severe physical assault until he lost consciousness.
  4. Subsequently, Renukaswamy’s body was reportedly disposed of in a stormwater drain, where it was discovered by a food delivery executive.
  5. Karnataka Police informed the court that Darshan and Pavithra Gowda are not cooperating with the investigation and are withholding crucial information. A search is underway for four additional suspects.

The arrest of Darshan has left his fans in shock and disbelief, leading to gatherings outside police stations and confrontations with law enforcement. State Home Minister G Parameshwara has authorized the police to take necessary action in accordance with the law.

Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) President N M Suresh has indicated that actions will be taken against Darshan after discussions with the artists’ union, likely following the submission of a charge-sheet by the police.

The developments in this case have sent shockwaves through the Kannada film industry and the actor’s fan base, highlighting the serious nature of the allegations and the ongoing investigation into the tragic incident.
