In a significant development regarding the sensational ₹25-crore jewelry heist in Delhi, the police have apprehended three suspects in Chhattisgarh. The arrested individuals include the main accused, Lokesh Srivastava, Shiva Chandravanshi, and another unnamed person. Additionally, a substantial amount of stolen gold has been recovered. Notably, this criminal gang had executed similar heists in Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.

The audacious robbery occurred when the criminals broke into Umrao Jewellers, a renowned jewelry store located in south Delhi’s Jangpura. The thieves made off with an estimated ₹20-25 crore worth of precious ornaments. The incident unfolded between Sunday evening and Thursday morning at the Bhogal area establishment.

The modus operandi of the thieves was meticulously planned. They gained access to the strongroom, located on the ground floor of a four-storey building adjacent to the store, by entering the building’s terrace. To evade detection, the perpetrators disconnected the store’s CCTV cameras and expertly drilled a hole through the wall to reach the locker.

In addition to the contents of the secured locker, the robbers also made away with jewelry items displayed in the showroom. The audacity and precision of the heist left both authorities and the public astonished.

The Delhi Police, collaborating closely with their counterparts in Chhattisgarh, launched a relentless pursuit of the suspects, leading to the arrests of the three individuals involved in this brazen crime.
