In yet another political development in Telangana, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Member of Parliament Ranjith Reddy has announced his resignation from the party led by K Chandrashekar Rao. This move comes just before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for 2024.
Ranjith Reddy, who represents the Chevella constituency, revealed his decision through a post on social media platform X. In his statement, he expressed gratitude to the BRS party for the opportunities provided and the cooperation extended during his service to the people of Chevella. However, citing evolving political circumstances, Reddy mentioned that he had to make the difficult decision to resign from the party.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t an isolated incident, as several MPs from the BRS have recently changed their party affiliations ahead of the elections. The BRS has already announced 11 candidates for the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. Just yesterday, BRS MP Pasunoori Dayakar from Warangal switched to the Congress party. Similarly, MPs from Zaheerabad and Nagarkurnool, B B Patil and P Ramulu, respectively, have joined the BJP in recent weeks.
