Around 250 passengers traveling from Bengaluru to Mumbai via a SpiceJet flight experienced frustration and chaos due to a 14-hour delay in takeoff from the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Wednesday. The delayed departure led to heated exchanges between passengers and airline staff. Passengers alleged a lack of prompt communication and responsiveness from the airline officials.
Initially, passengers were informed of an earlier departure time, prompting early boarding. However, after boarding, the flight faced a two-hour delay before passengers were asked to disembark and wait at the boarding gate. The scheduled 5 am departure was rescheduled multiple times—12 pm, 3 pm, and eventually 8:30 pm—citing a “technical glitch” with the Bengaluru to Mumbai flight by the airline.
Amidst the ordeal, social media witnessed the circulation of a video depicting passengers questioning airline staff. Various passengers also took to the internet to share their distressing experiences. One user recounted a delay of nearly an hour and a half on their Bengaluru to Mumbai SpiceJet flight, expressing dissatisfaction with the airline’s service.
SpiceJet is yet to issue a response regarding the incident, leaving passengers and the public awaiting an official statement regarding the delayed flight.
