Ramkrishna Srivastava, a 65-year-old devotee, collapsed inside the temple complex, prompting a swift response from the BHISHM Cube team led by Wing Commander Manish Gupta. Acting within a minute of the incident, the team provided on-site treatment, recognizing the critical golden hour—the first hour following a traumatic injury or medical event crucial for successful emergency treatment.

Upon initial assessment, it was revealed that Srivastava’s blood pressure had surged to a dangerously high level of 210/170 mm Hg. The rapid response team administered preliminary treatment at the site. Once the patient’s condition stabilized, he was transferred to the civil hospital for further observation and specialized care, as stated in an official statement.

The incident unfolded as part of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram temple, where two Cube-BHISHM mobile hospitals, deployed under the Arogya Maitri Disaster Management project, played a pivotal role in bolstering medical readiness and response capabilities in Ayodhya.

These mobile hospitals, equipped with innovative tools designed to enhance disaster response and medical support during emergencies, underscore the importance of preparedness in handling health crises. The IAF’s rapid response team’s prompt action not only saved a life but also demonstrated the effectiveness of strategic medical interventions in crowded ceremonial events.

The incident serves as a testament to the dedication and efficiency of emergency response teams, highlighting the crucial role played by mobile medical facilities in ensuring the safety and well-being of attendees at public gatherings.
