Prime Minister Narendra Modi has commenced an 11-day ‘anushthan’ (rituals) in preparation for the highly anticipated ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at Ayodhya’s Ram temple on January 22. In a video message shared on the X social platform, the prime minister expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to witness the auspicious occasion and represent the people of India.

“I am fortunate to witness the auspicious occasion. God has asked me to represent the people of India during the ceremony. Keeping in mind, I am beginning an 11-day special ritual from today. I seek blessings from all of you,” said Prime Minister Modi, acknowledging the significance of the upcoming event.

The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, scheduled for January 22, involves a detailed ritual according to Hindu shastras. Prime Minister Modi, despite his hectic schedule and responsibilities, has decided to rigorously follow all the rituals and has initiated an 11-day ‘anushthan’ in adherence to specific rules laid down for the consecration.

As per Hindu scriptures, the fast ahead of the consecration involves specific instructions. Prime Minister Modi’s daily routine during this period includes rituals like Brahma Muhurat Jagran, prayers, and a simple diet.

The main ceremony will witness Vedic rituals beginning on January 16, a week prior to the grand event. The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22 will be conducted by Lakshmi Kant Dixit, a priest from Varanasi. In addition to the religious proceedings, a 1008 Hundi Mahayagya will be organized, feeding thousands of devotees, while several tent cities are being erected in Ayodhya to accommodate the anticipated surge of attendees.

The Sri Ram Janambhoomi Trust has announced arrangements for 10,000-15,000 people, and invitations have been extended to several VVIP guests from India and abroad. Local authorities are actively implementing enhanced security measures and logistical arrangements to ensure a smooth and spiritually enriching experience for all attendees during this historic event.
