Adani Group unveiled a milestone achievement in India’s defence technology with the introduction of ‘Drishti 10 Starliner,’ the nation’s premier Medium Altitude, Long Endurance Drone. The maiden indigenously manufactured Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) was flagged off for the Navy by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar.
The ‘Drishti 10 Starliner’ represents a significant stride towards India’s strategic autonomy and technological prowess in the realm of advanced aerial systems. This state-of-the-art UAV is a cutting-edge Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform boasting remarkable capabilities: a 36-hour endurance, a payload capacity of 450 kgs, and unique STANAG 4671 certification, enabling it to operate in diverse weather conditions and airspaces.
Admiral R Hari Kumar hailed the occasion as transformative, underlining its pivotal role in fortifying India’s self-reliance in ISR technology and maritime supremacy. Adani Group’s systematic efforts over several years to nurture local capabilities, not only in manufacturing but also in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), have culminated in the integration of ‘Drishti 10’ into naval operations, bolstering India’s maritime surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.
The flag-off ceremony held at Adani Aerospace Park in Hyderabad signified Adani Defence and Aerospace’s commitment to fostering indigenous defence capabilities and achieving global leadership in the sector. The conglomerate has already made substantial strides in domains such as small arms, radars, defence electronics, and tactical communication systems, supporting the Army and paramilitary forces.
With the emergence of threats from rogue drones, Adani Defence is actively developing counter-drone systems, catering to both defence and civil applications. The conglomerate’s comprehensive ecosystem, encompassing Tier 1 and Tier 2 capabilities across the defence supply chain, positions it favorably to integrate larger platforms.
Moreover, Adani Defence’s ongoing initiative to establish India’s first comprehensive Aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility aims to ensure safety and international airworthiness standards.
The unveiling of ‘Drishti 10 Starliner’ stands as a testament to India’s strides in self-reliance in defence technology, further reinforced by Adani Defence and Aerospace’s commitment to innovation and bolstering the nation’s defence capabilities.
