Rahul Gandhi Set to Lead Bharat Nyaya Yatra Covering 14 States from Manipur to Mumbai

In a bid to champion economic, social, and political justice, Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi gears up for the Bharat Nyaya Yatra, spanning 6200 km across 14 states from Manipur to Mumbai. The journey, scheduled to commence on January 14 and extend over three months, aims to address issues of justice and empowerment.

Congress leader KC Venugopal announced the yatra, emphasizing its significance in galvanizing youth, women, and marginalized communities. The yatra’s focus on fostering inclusivity and highlighting societal concerns aligns with Gandhi’s commitment to championing the cause of justice.

Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge is slated to inaugurate the yatra in Imphal on January 14, marking the journey’s commencement in the backdrop of ethnic violence that has affected Manipur and other northeastern states. Jairam Ramesh, another Congress leader, outlined the yatra’s scope, highlighting its coverage of states such as Nagaland, Assam, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

The yatra’s primary objective is not political but humanitarian, aimed at addressing the grievances of ordinary citizens and fostering healing in regions impacted by violence and displacement. Venugopal stressed that the yatra will prioritize the concerns of the common people, amplifying their voices and aspirations.

This initiative follows Gandhi’s previous endeavor, the Bharat Jodo Yatra, covering 4500 km over 150 days from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. The upcoming Bharat Nyaya Yatra is expected to resonate with grassroots-level Congress workers, amplifying the party’s engagement and connection with local communities.

While the yatra seeks to engage with citizens and address their concerns, Venugopal reassured that separate mechanisms would be in place for election preparations, ensuring that the yatra’s pursuits would not impede the party’s electoral strategies.

With a focus on justice, empowerment, and socio-economic issues, Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Nyaya Yatra stands poised to initiate dialogues, highlight concerns, and advocate for the rights of marginalized communities across the vast expanse of 14 states.
