A dramatic incident unfolded during a political campaign in Telangana as a video captured Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR, nearly falling off a campaign bus. The pink-colored bus, carrying Telangana leaders, navigated a narrow lane in Armoor town of Nizamabad when the unexpected incident occurred.
The video depicted KTR and other leaders gathered on a small platform erected over the bus, gripping the railing as the vehicle maneuvered through the tight alley. As the driver abruptly hit the brakes, KTR, flanked by Jeevan Reddy and Suresh Reddy, teetered on the edge, narrowly avoiding a fall. Unfortunately, his fellow leaders were not as fortunate, tumbling over with the sudden stop.
Despite the unsettling moment, the campaign for the upcoming polls on November 30 continued without major disruptions. Minister KTR, who also serves as the BRS working president, proceeded to the Kodangal campaign.
The video showcased men in white T-shirts and camouflage trousers running alongside the bus, holding a rope on either side. A security man cleared the path at the front. The sudden braking resulted in leaders losing their balance, but KTR was saved by an alert security personnel. Although his companions suffered minor bruises, the incident did not deter the political momentum.
Telangana is gearing up for a triangular contest in the upcoming polls, with the ruling BRS, Congress, and BJP in the fray. In the 2018 Assembly elections, the BRS secured a dominant position by winning 88 of the 119 seats, claiming 47.4% of the total vote share. The Congress finished second with 19 seats and a vote share of 28.7%. The election results will be announced on December 3.
