Rajnath Singh Accuses Telangana Chief Minister's Family of Corruption and Neglect

In a fiery address at a rally held in Jammikunta, located in the Huzurabad constituency, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has made strong allegations of corruption and neglect under the leadership of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR). The Union Minister raised concerns about the abuse of power and rapidly growing corruption within the state, suggesting that these issues have now extended beyond Telangana’s borders and are being discussed in the capital city of Delhi.

Singh’s criticism centers on the alleged corruption within KCR’s family, and he pointed out that these concerns are no longer confined to Telangana but have also reached the corridors of power in Delhi.

During the rally, Mr. Singh questioned the development progress in Telangana, despite its skilled and industrious population. He stated, “In the 10 years, Telangana’s development was not only limited but remained as private limited. Why is there interference by KCR’s family in the government? People have elected you as Chief Minister, not your family.”

Singh further compared Telangana’s progress unfavorably to states like Gujarat, noting that several regions across the country have made significant strides under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He asked why Telangana did not experience similar development under KCR’s tenure.

The Defence Minister also challenged KCR regarding promises made to the Dalit community. He inquired about the status of the commitment to provide three acres of land to Dalits and ₹10 lakh to each Dalit family, seeking an account of how many beneficiaries have actually received these benefits.

Rajnath Singh emphasized that the people of Telangana are feeling neglected and accused KCR’s administration of power abuse and the rapid growth of corruption within the state.

In his address, Mr. Singh also highlighted the opportunities being created for women under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, pointing to the recent passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament. He expressed optimism that this bill could come into effect in 2029, or possibly even by 2026.

The allegations and concerns raised by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh shed light on the contentious issues surrounding governance, development, and accountability in Telangana, as well as the growing spotlight on corruption within the state’s leadership.
