Air Commodore DS Handa, in a statement during an airshow celebrating the 91st anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF), emphasized the substantial growth of the IAF’s role in Eastern Ladakh, especially in regions bordering China. He highlighted the importance of acquiring long-range surveillance radar systems to enhance situational awareness and monitor potential threats effectively.

The airshow aimed to inspire students to consider careers within the IAF and reassure the people of Ladakh of the IAF’s dedication to safeguarding the region. The event featured a static display of impressive aircraft and missile systems, including Rafale aircraft and indigenous missile systems.
