“NIA Cracks Down on Lawrence Bishnoi’s Aide Vikram Brar: Arrested upon Deportation from UAE”

NIA Nabs Lawrence Bishnoi's Aide Vikram Brar Upon Deportation from UAE

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has achieved a major breakthrough in its pursuit of criminals involved in a terror-gangster conspiracy with the arrest of Vikramjeet Singh, widely known as Vikram Brar, upon his deportation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Brar, a key associate of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, is a prime suspect in the high-profile murder case of renowned Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

The central probe agency dispatched a team to the UAE to facilitate Vikram Brar’s deportation, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation. Brar’s arrest was made on Tuesday in connection with a case involving multiple charges of murder, attempted murder, and extortion under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, as well as the Arms Act.

Notably, Vikram Brar has been on the run since 2020, facing charges in at least 11 criminal cases. He was allegedly deeply involved in the smuggling of weapons and extortion activities within India, collaborating with notorious gangsters like Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar.

The NIA’s findings reveal that Brar played a crucial role in aiding Goldy Brar in executing the murder of Sidhu Moosewala. Moreover, the agency discovered instances where Lawrence Bishnoi sent extorted money to Vikram Brar through hawala channels, further implicating him in the gang’s illicit operations.

According to an official statement released by the NIA, Vikram Brar served as a ‘communications control room’ (CCR) for Lawrence Bishnoi’s terror gang while residing in the UAE. Operating from this base, Brar facilitated communication between Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, who was based in Canada, and carried out extortion calls as directed by the gang leaders.

The recent arrest comes shortly after Interpol issued red notices against Vikram Brar and Kapil Sangwan, alias Nandu, residing in the UAE and the UK, respectively. Brar’s involvement in handling financial transactions and logistics for Lawrence Bishnoi’s criminal activities from the UAE highlights his pivotal role as a conduit between the gang and pro-Khalistani elements.

Further details disclosed in NIA documents suggest that Brar and Bishnoi were former classmates at Panjab University in Chandigarh, and their association deepened into a close friendship over time. Together with their associates, they were implicated in a series of heinous crimes, including extortion, murder, and attempted murder. Vikram Brar’s role extended beyond India’s borders, facilitating terror activities in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra while fostering links with pro-Khalistani elements.

The NIA’s successful operation has dealt a significant blow to Lawrence Bishnoi’s criminal syndicate and reinforces the agency’s commitment to dismantle terror-gangster networks that pose a threat to national security.
