A 35-year-old carpenter tragically lost his life on Sunday after attempting to flee from a routine traffic check in Balanagar, Hyderabad. The incident occurred when the man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was stopped by traffic police for a routine check.
According to police reports, the man attempted to evade the checkpoint by speeding off on his bike. However, he lost control of the vehicle and skidded, falling onto the road. Unfortunately, a bus coming from behind ran over him, resulting in his death on the spot.
The tragic event sparked protests from local residents who gathered at the scene, blocking the road in outrage. The protesters accused a traffic constable of negligence and even alleged that the officer was intoxicated at the time of the incident, which led to their claim of mishandling the situation.
In response, police reviewed CCTV footage from the area, which showed the bike rider skidding and falling on his own, with no clear indication of the constable’s involvement in the crash. Despite this, a complaint was filed by the man’s brother, leading to the registration of a case against the traffic constable at the Balanagar police station.
