Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday departed for the United States after wrapping up his two-day visit to France, where he co-chaired the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron and held bilateral discussions on key global and regional issues.
In the US, PM Modi is set to hold a bilateral meeting with President Donald Trump in both restricted and delegation-level formats, marking a significant diplomatic engagement between the two leaders. Modi will be the fourth foreign leader to visit Trump since his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States in January.
Strengthening Indo-French Ties
Before heading to the US, Modi and Macron engaged in discussions to enhance trade and investment ties between India and France. The two leaders also emphasized their commitment to deepening cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region and strengthening participation in various global forums and initiatives.
As a key highlight of the visit, Modi and Macron jointly inaugurated India’s new consulate in Marseille, further reinforcing India-France relations.
AI Action Summit & Business Engagement
During his visit to Paris, Modi co-chaired the AI Action Summit with Macron on Tuesday. The summit aimed at fostering collaboration in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. Additionally, the Indian Prime Minister addressed the 14th India-France CEOs Forum, highlighting investment opportunities and economic partnerships between the two nations.
Meeting with US Vice President J.D. Vance
Apart from his engagements in France, Modi also met US Vice President J.D. Vance and his Indian-origin wife along with their two young sons, showcasing growing diplomatic and cultural ties between India and the United States.
With his France visit concluded, Modi’s meeting with President Trump in the US is expected to cover critical issues, including trade, defense, and geopolitical concerns, further strengthening India-US strategic relations.
