In a tragic incident in North East Delhi’s Kabir Nagar, a shootout left one man dead and two others injured after three attackers opened fire on three friends riding a scooter. The attack occurred last night as Nadeem and his two friends were en route to pick up food. The assailants, riding a motorcycle, ambushed the group on a street, firing seven rounds before fleeing the scene, taking Nadeem’s scooter and mobile phone but leaving behind their motorcycle.

Nadeem, who sustained fatal injuries, was rushed by locals to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His companion remains hospitalized in critical condition. Delhi Police have initiated a murder and attempted murder investigation, and Nadeem’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

The police detained three minors in connection with the incident. Investigations revealed that one of the suspects allegedly owed money to Nadeem, who had pressured him for repayment. Authorities are analyzing CCTV footage from the area for further evidence.

The suspects have also been linked to an earlier firing incident in Jyoti Nagar, where the same group reportedly fired six rounds outside a residence. Three juveniles were taken into custody, along with three country-made pistols, and are now undergoing interrogation.

In a separate but related crackdown, the Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested two key members of an arms trafficking syndicate, seizing 13 pistols in the process. The main supplier, Shakeel, is involved in over 17 criminal cases, including participation in the Jahangirpuri Hanuman Jayanti riots. Over the past week, police have recovered more than 50 illegal firearms from different suppliers across the city.
